Position Overview
Yum! Brands is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Data Science Intern to join their dynamic team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and deployment of machine learning models and solutions that optimize various aspects of their business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and identify opportunities for leveraging machine learning techniques.
- Design, develop, and test statistical and machine learning models to address business challenges and improve operational efficiency.
- Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of statistical experiments to assess the business impact of AI/ML-driven solutions.
- Evaluate, monitor, and improve forecasts using advanced models in time series and machine learning.
- Work with the Machine Learning Engineering team to test, optimize, and deploy models in production environments.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a PhD or Master’s degree in Statistics, Operation Research, Econometrics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Good understanding of experiment design, linear models, and Monte Carlo simulation.
- Basic understanding of time series analysis, stochastic processes, and machine learning methods.
- Familiarity with Python, R, and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for learning and making a positive impact.
