Overview
Walmart Fulfillment Services is seeking a Senior Data Scientist Intern to collaborate as a strategic partner across various functions within the organization. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on initiatives related to forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain optimization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a startup environment, demonstrating maturity, analytical prowess, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute initiatives across forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain optimization, from data collection to communication of insights and recommendations.
- Develop scalable supply chain models and processes to enhance inventory health and customer experience while achieving operational targets.
- Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and business planning efforts.
- Lead the business planning and intelligence function, monitoring progress and identifying areas for improvement.
- Effectively organize and utilize available resources to ensure project success and drive continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in an analytics strategic role.
- Proficiency in analytical tools such as SQL and Python.
- Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions and influence change.
- Background in supply chain, inventory management, or e-commerce transportation preferred.
- Strong presentation and strategic document writing skills.
- Experience in program management or consulting is a plus.
