The National Indigenous Scholarship Program at Western University is a beacon of opportunity for those who carry the torch of academic brilliance and community impact.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Level of Study: Associate, Bachelor, Co-op, Honours, Online
• Year of Study: Entering or in the first year
• Citizenship: Canada
• Status in Canada: Permanent Resident
• Schools Attended: Any School
• Heritage: Aboriginal, First Nation, Indigenous
• School of Study: Western University
• Field of Study: Any Field of Study

Scholarship Details:

• Amount: $50,000
• Number of Awards: 5
• Renewable: Yes, for 3 years
• Recipients:
  • Five Indigenous undergraduate students (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit) studying full-time at Western’s main campus.
  • Three scholarships for students applying from Canadian high schools.
  • Two scholarships for Indigenous students applying from a postsecondary institution.
• Selection Criteria:
  • Outstanding academic excellence.
  • Meaningful and impactful contributions to Indigenous communities (on and off reserve, as well as urban settings).
  • Creative and innovative thinking.
• Award Distribution:
  • Two awards at $50,000 each for Indigenous students applying from Canadian high schools:
    • $20,000 for year one.
    • $10,000 for years two to four (based on ongoing registration).
  • One award at $50,000 for an Indigenous student applying from a postsecondary institution:
    • $20,000 for year one.
    • $10,000 for years two to four (based on ongoing registration).
