Job Description
OpenAI is seeking an experienced Frontend Software Engineer to join their Applied Engineering team. In this role, you will collaborate across research, product, and design teams to deliver OpenAI’s cutting-edge technology to users worldwide. You’ll play a crucial part in designing and building efficient, scalable front-end systems for complex web applications, ensuring they are delivered with safety and reliability in mind. If you’re a self-starter with a passion for user experience and product development, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking AI projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with research, product, and design teams to implement new features and research capabilities
- Design and develop efficient, reusable front-end systems for complex web applications using TypeScript, React, and other web technologies
- Plan and deploy front-end infrastructure necessary for building, testing, and deploying products
- Cultivate a diverse and inclusive culture, fostering an environment of radical candor and challenging group think
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience building production web applications at scale using TypeScript, React, and other web technologies
- Ability to build complex applications and systems from the ground up, even with limited development infrastructure
- Intrinsic desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and fill in missing skills, with a strong ability to share knowledge effectively
- Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change, viewing challenges as opportunities to add structure and order as needed
Location: San Francisco, CA
Compensation
Base Salary Range: $245,000/yr – $385,000/yr (Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.)
